Open Source

Open source software, generally, refers to software that has freely available source code. The benefit of this is that programmers all over the world can fix, upgrade and customize the software in the best interest of themselves and others. Open source software projects cover everything from the OS (Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD and others) to office suites (OpenOffice). All of this software is free in the sense that the source code is available, and most are free as in "free beer" and anyone can download and install it.

We use several open source projects to provide great, but affordable service. We implement a Linux firewall on our network and use SSH (encrypted secure access) and VNC (remote administration) to support our clients.
